Camas County Release Records
A Camas County release is the end of one agency's custody, not always a return to the community. The Camas County Sheriff's Office is the first local contact, yet its site does not present a detention center, roster, booking portal, or release feed. The official Idaho jail directory also lists no operating Camas County jail. A person arrested in Fairfield may therefore have a Camas case while being physically held elsewhere. Camas keeps arrest, transport, or notice records; the housing jail normally keeps the completed booking and exit times; and the Camas court keeps the order that authorized the result.
Release can mean bond, recognizance, dismissal, credit for time served, sentence completion, probation, parole, or a handoff to another custodian. Bond permits the case to continue outside jail. Probation is supervision ordered by a court. Parole is conditional community placement after an eligible state prison term. A transfer closes one jail's custody entry but continues confinement under another agency. A detainer, which is a request or authority to hold a person for another agency, can turn a planned community exit into a direct transfer. Each term leads to a different search path.
- Discharge
- Completion or formal end of a sentence or supervision status.
- Time served
- Credit that satisfies all or part of a jail sentence.
- Detainer
- Authority for another agency to take or keep custody.
- Parole
- Conditional release from an IDOC sentence into community supervision.
Camas County Release Types
The record should preserve the actual release code instead of reducing every outcome to “free.” That wording matters in Camas County because the court, arresting sheriff, housing jail, and next custodian can all be different. The following distinctions guide where to verify the next status.
| Release type | What it means | Best next record |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or recognizance | Pretrial custody ends while the case remains open. | Housing-jail ledger and Camas iCourt docket |
| Dismissal | A filed charge may no longer support custody, subject to other cases or holds. | Court order plus completed jail exit |
| Time served or completion | The local jail sentence has been satisfied. | Judgment, credit, and jail release time |
| Probation | The court places the person under community supervision. | Camas order and the proper probation office |
| Parole | IDOC custody shifts to conditional community supervision. | IDOC detail and Commission decision |
| Transfer or detainer | One facility releases the person directly to another agency. | Receiving agency and transfer destination |
A booking photograph belongs to the booking record. It does not prove guilt, conviction, or release. Likewise, a court order gives legal authority for release but may precede the physical exit while staff process paperwork and check other holds.
Camas County Release Record Fields
A useful Camas County release record answers who was booked, where the person was actually held, when that facility's custody ended, why it ended, and what happened next. No official Camas online form displays these fields. Request them from Camas and the confirmed housing jail, using identifiers broad enough to match the correct booking.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Full name and aliases | The identity used for the booking and alternate spellings. |
| Booking number | The facility's identifier for the custody episode. |
| Booking date and time | When the physical custodian opened the record. |
| Housing facility | The jail that held and likely released the person. |
| Release date and time | The completed end of that facility's custody. |
| Release authority or type | Bond, court order, completion, transfer, or another coded reason. |
| Receiving agency or destination | Whether another jail, IDOC, federal authority, or immigration custodian took control. |
| Hold disposition | How any detainer affected the exit. |
Online retention is not published for Camas, Blaine's current roster, or Gooding's reviewed page. A person may disappear from a live display while the underlying government record remains with its custodian. Older cases are often better traced through the court docket and a focused records request than through a current roster.
Request Camas County Release Records
Call Camas first to identify the physical jail. Ask which office created the booking entry, which office holds the custody history, and whether the recorded outcome was community release or transfer. Then use a staged request instead of assuming one office holds the whole trail.
- Give Camas Sheriff the name, aliases, approximate birth year, arrest range, case number, and any known booking number.
- Request existing Camas arrest, transport, placement, and release-notice records, plus the identity of each record custodian.
- Send the confirmed housing jail a request for its booking sheet, custody history, completed release timestamp, release code, hold result, transfer destination, and booking image.
- Use the Camas clerk for the filed bond, dismissal, judgment, probation, commitment, amended, satisfaction, or discharge orders.
- Ask for electronic copies, a fee estimate, and the legal basis for any denial or redaction.

No dedicated Camas release-record form, local fee schedule, or records-counter hours were found. Driver-license hours on the sheriff page apply to licensing, not the records counter. Under the Idaho Public Records Act instructions, a request includes contact information and the required residency declaration. Idaho-resident requests ordinarily receive a grant, denial, or extension notice within three working days, with final action by ten working days when extended. The current state summary allows longer periods for nonresidents. These are response rules, not a promise that every item will be disclosed.
Camas Release Records and Access
Title 74 governs executive-agency public records, subject to exemptions and lawful redaction. For Idaho residents, the first two labor hours and first 100 paper pages are generally free; permitted charges after those thresholds depend on the lowest-paid qualified employee or attorney and the agency's schedule. No Camas-specific price should be inferred from the state rule. Court records follow Idaho Court Administrative Rule 32 and clerk procedures instead of the sheriff's request path.
Sealing, shielding, and expungement are not interchangeable. Idaho Clean Slate shielding may limit public court access for an eligible record after the full sentence has been complete for at least five years, including probation, parole, fines, and restitution. Shielding does not destroy the record. Juvenile confidentiality and expungement have separate rules. A missing online case therefore does not prove that no arrest, custody event, or release occurred.
When Camas Inmates Actually Leave
The Blaine County inmate handbook promises no standard release hour. Timing depends on the arrest, release type, staff schedule, court paperwork, and holds. A judge's order may arrive before the jail completes the physical exit. If another agency has a hold, Blaine may transport the person to that agency without giving friends or family the transport time.
For a Camas County case, verify two facts separately. The Camas docket shows legal authority. The housing jail's completed event shows when physical custody ended. A future time stated in court should not be treated as a pickup guarantee, especially when another charge or detainer may still control the outcome.
Getting Home After Camas Release
No reviewed official source promises transportation from Blaine or Gooding back to Fairfield, and no fixed jail-to-Fairfield route was identified. Confirm the actual jail before arranging a ride. Ask that facility where a responsible party may wait, what identification or pickup rules apply, and whether the person is expected to leave through a public exit. Do not plan solely around a court-order time because paperwork and holds can change the actual exit.
A transfer is different from a ride home. When Blaine releases someone to a hold agency, family and friends may not receive transport details. The receiving agency becomes the next status source. Ask for its name in the release record, then check that agency rather than reporting a community return.
Camas Bond Release Costs
Blaine's handbook distinguishes full cash bond from a surety bond arranged through a bondsman. A cash-only order must be followed as written. The facility also describes an administrative bonding fee of $10 per charge before arraignment or $10 per case afterward. These are Blaine facility rules, not proof of a universal Camas charge at every possible housing jail.
Bond release leaves the criminal case pending. It is not dismissal. The court docket should show the bond authority and later case action, while the housing jail supplies the completed release time. If one charge is bonded but another case or hold remains, the person may stay in custody.
Blaine Releases Are Not Camas Totals
The Blaine County Sheriff's 2025 activity report records 800 jail bookings and 783 jail releases. Those are facility-wide counts and may include people from many jurisdictions. They must not be presented as Camas County totals.
The figures still show why a live roster is only a snapshot. Hundreds of annual exits cannot be reconstructed from today's custody view. A historical claim needs the facility ledger, a court record, or another preserved government status record.
Fees After a Camas Release
Blaine's handbook says sentenced people may be billed $25 per confinement day, capped at $500 per case. It also lists a $10 charge for an unreturned handbook. Such obligations may remain after the person leaves the facility. They do not extend custody by themselves, prove the case outcome, or apply automatically to someone held at another jail.
Ask the confirmed custodian for the account or billing record tied to the specific booking. Keep that issue separate from the release timestamp and from court fines or restitution, which belong to the case record.
Find Camas County Released Inmates
The strongest search follows the person across systems instead of treating roster absence as proof. Start with the local arrest and housing question, then follow any transfer to its receiving agency. Preserve the exact source, status wording, retrieval date, and update time.
- Collect the full name, aliases, approximate birth year, arrest date, court case number, and booking number if known.
- Call Camas Sheriff at 208-764-2261 and ask which physical facility accepted the person.
- Check the confirmed jail's current official page. A matching entry supports current reported custody; absence proves nothing alone.
- Search Idaho VINE, compare identifiers, and record the supplying agency, status, and update.
- Search iCourt for the Camas case and read the register of actions.
- Request the housing jail's exact release time, release code, hold result, and receiving agency.
- Follow a transfer through IDOC, another sheriff, BOP, ICE, or the appropriate federal court record.
For a same-day interval use Released Last 24 Hours. Camas has no official rolling release feed, so that route begins with facility identification and a time-bounded request. For a future state date, use the Inmate Release Date explanation and preserve Idaho's exact field names.
IDOC Camas Release Search
The IDOC Resident/Client Search covers people incarcerated by IDOC, on IDOC parole, or on court probation under IDOC jurisdiction. It also retains names of people who served time and satisfied their sentences. It does not cover every short Camas County jail booking. Search by last name with optional first name, or by IDOC number. Partial searches accept at least two surname letters or the first three digits of an IDOC number.
| Search or result field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Last and first name | Match spelling and aliases, then compare birth year. |
| IDOC number | State identifier and best route to the detail record. |
| Discharged plus date | Sentence satisfaction; not necessarily the physical gate time. |
| In community | Still under state or court jurisdiction in the community. |
| In custody | Currently reported in IDOC custody. |
| Active Bench Warrant | A current court warning, not proof of a jail location. |
| Released to Supervision | Most recent date the court or Commission placed the person on supervision. |
The official IDOC results display illustrates these status labels.
The image helps distinguish a state discharge or community status from a county-jail exit. IDOC says its data updates daily and warns that fast-changing status or location information may lag. Check Current Physical Location because an “In community” label can coexist with a county-jail location after a new arrest or violation.
Camas Court and Jail Records
Camas retains its Fifth Judicial District case even when the person sleeps in another county. The Camas County court supplies the bond order, dismissal, judgment, sentence, credit for time served, probation order, commitment, warrant, satisfaction, or discharge entry. The housing jail supplies the actual processing time. That split is the central Camas County verification issue.
A docket order may be signed before it reaches the jail. Staff may still need to confirm payment, identity, or other holds. Conversely, a roster may change before a court entry is easy to find. Report both sources and their dates when they differ. Do not blend the order date and physical exit time into one unsupported timestamp.
The statewide iCourt portal provides case information, while documents may require a courthouse kiosk or the filing clerk. Camas court information is available at 208-764-2238, and the clerk is at 501 Soldier Road in Fairfield. Court access uses its own judicial rules, so a jail-ledger request belongs with the sheriff or housing facility instead.
Camas Release Supervision Checks
A felony supervision trail runs through IDOC District 5. An IDOC detail may show the supervising district, officer, phone, sentence status, and Released to Supervision date. A Camas adult misdemeanor probation trail is different: Camas County contracts with Gooding County for probation services. Verify it through the Camas order and Gooding Adult Probation rather than assuming every probation case appears as state parole.
Parole follows an IDOC prison sentence and a Commission decision. Probation comes from a court order and may occur without a prison stay. A Released to Supervision date confirms an earlier community placement, but it does not prove the person remains physically in the community today. Read the top status and current location, then contact the proper office. The Parole / Probation page separates these local and state routes.
Camas Release Alerts and Transfers
Idaho VINE connects participating jail booking systems and IDOC for custody status and notifications. Search a named person, compare identifiers, note the supplier and update, and register for phone, text, or email alerts on the correct record. A “Released” or “Not in custody” result applies only to that supplier. It does not rule out another jail or state, federal, or immigration custody. Registration is prospective and separate from a manual search.
For a sentenced federal prisoner, use the BOP Inmate Locator. Its results can include a release date and “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody,” but BOP warns that another justice system or supervision may remain. For eligible current ICE or qualifying CBP custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator. USMS has no public historical release locator, so use the federal docket, BOP when applicable, and a focused USMS records request.
No official Camas federal or ICE detention facility was identified. A county-jail handoff to either authority is a transfer, not proof of community release. The jail record should name the receiving agency before that search path is used.
Where Camas Release Status Appears
Each source answers a narrow question. Use the system that created the event, then corroborate it with the legal or receiving record.
| System | What it can show | What it cannot prove alone |
|---|---|---|
| Housing-jail roster | A current reported custody entry | Why an absent entry disappeared |
| Housing-jail release ledger | Completed exit time, code, hold, and destination | Later status under another custodian |
| Camas iCourt case | Legal order and case disposition | The minute jail processing ended |
| IDOC search | State custody, supervision, warrant, or discharge status | Every county-only booking |
| VINE | Supplying agency's current feed and alerts | An all-jurisdiction clearance |
| BOP or ICE | Status within that federal system's scope | Freedom from all other custody |
Camas County Release Facilities
There is no officially listed operating long-term Camas County jail. These pages represent the local starting point and two conditional housing leads. Neither Blaine nor Gooding should be treated as the custodian for a named person until Camas Sheriff confirms placement.
- Camas County Sheriff’s Office / Fairfield holding point: local arrest, transport, records, and facility-identification contact.
- Blaine County Detention Center: accepts people from other jurisdictions and those awaiting IDOC transfer; a possible Camas housing location that requires confirmation.
- Gooding County Jail: a conditional housing lead; Gooding's Camas probation work does not prove jail placement.
After a confirmed transfer to IDOC, the state Resident/Client Search becomes the principal status source. After a community release, use the jail ledger for the completed exit, the Camas docket for legal authority, and the proper probation or parole office for ongoing supervision.
